I was born and raised in Eldoret, Kenya, in a home where food was more than nourishment — it was love, celebration, and fearless creativity. My grandmother’s traditional sweets, my mother’s adventurous experiments, and my aunt’s elegant bakes filled my childhood with flavor and inspiration. We were the kind of family who would set the table for 20 without blinking, always ready to feed and delight anyone who walked through our door.
That spirit of generosity and abundance shaped me. After high school, I moved to Bangalore, India, for my studies, soaking in new flavors and techniques, before life brought me to the United States after marriage. In every chapter, food remained my love language. Hosting friends and family became my joy — not just cooking, but curating tables filled with variety, color, and a sense of occasion.
Desserts were my first signature. My Gulab Jamun Tiramisu, Fennel Rose Truffles, and basil-lavender creations became conversation pieces at dinner parties. Guests would pause mid-bite, look up, and say, “You need to start your own business.” With the encouragement of my husband, daughter, parents, and brother, Sinful Temptations was born.
But as much as I loved crafting desserts, I realized my passion was bigger than sweets alone. I wanted to create entire edible experiences — from decadent fusion desserts to abundant vegetarian grazing tables and boards that celebrate artistry, flavor, and the joy of sharing. Today, Sinful Temptations offers both:
- Sweet Temptations — our signature desserts with bold, unexpected flavors.
- Savory Indulgence — vegetarian grazing tables and bite-sized creations, inspired by my Kenyan roots, Indian heritage, and American creativity.
It hasn’t been without doubt. In the beginning, I wondered how I’d find customers in a new country, if people would embrace fusion flavors, and how I could balance motherhood with entrepreneurship. But every first bite, every delighted gasp, and every “I’ve never tasted anything like this before” reminded me I was on the right path.
Motherhood taught me to be intentional, to create with purpose, and to build something my daughter can look at and know: passion and perseverance can create something beautiful.
At Sinful Temptations, every table and every dessert tells my story — not just where I’ve been, but the flavors, traditions, and creativity I’ve gathered along the way. Whether sweet or savory, one bite should feel like an experience you’ll never forget.
